The
Council has set forth the following goals for FY 2011:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other state-based stakeholders regarding CTE initiatives
- Disseminate revised or newly printed sixteen career clusters documents to classroom teachers and other state-based stakeholders on the benefits of a CTE education through state listservs and Education for Employment Directors
- Revise podcasts and include CTE video based on the sixteen career clusters on the Council’s website and other appropriate web-based servers
- Develop and disseminate a "Guide to Illinois CTE"
- Promote and support collaborative research with deliverable outcomes among CTE professionals, which can influence the practices of Illinois' Career and Technical Education programs
- Fund Council members for professional development experiences
- To spend up to five days in a business/industry setting to bring cutting edge knowledge and skills back to the CTE classroom
- To attend professional meetings and disseminate the information through the Council
- Design and deliver a one-day professional development conference for pre-service CTE teachers focusing on CTE critical issues
- Continue to update the Council’s website for effective dissemination of information
